Our Foundation Story

After losing her father at 9, Our Founder, Jubilee Azubike, struggled with depression and anxiety disorder for 10 years in addition to being a victim of attempted rape. She self-stigmatized, swallowed the scorn of belittled pain and experienced what it means to be looked at and treated with pity for a condition people knew very little about.

Why We Exist

The Regina Mental Health Foundation exists to encourage those who are living with mental health conditions to pursue and live their dreams; to educate those who don’t know about mental health about its existence and on how to promote their mental wellbeing and support others living with it; to empower Africans to live a trauma-free, whole and happy lives and fulfill their God-given potentials.

Our Values

  •  Freedom
We give every person a voice, honor their worth, and enable them to take charge of their healing and well-being

  •  Refinement
We are focused, impact-driven and commit to continuous improvement of ourselves, skills and services.

  •  Integrity
We commit to do what is right, not what's easy. Honesty and reliability guide our decisions.

  •  Compassion
We meet every person with empathy, kindness, and zero judgment.

  •  Safety
We create safe, confidential, and respectful spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported.

Our Beliefs

Besides creating awareness, providing professional support and empowering people to live their best lives, we believe in and support Africapitalism. We believe that entrepreneurs should have access to professional mental health support as often as possible to continue to drive economic growth and social wealth as much as possible while living fully and trauma-free. This is because studies prove that entrepreneurs suffer from mental health conditions at higher rates than non-entrepreneurs. Providing professional mental health support and safe spaces for entrepreneurs is our way of supporting Africapitalism.

We believe that people living in vulnerable areas like Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) centers, refugee camps and rural communities should not be left out of mental health awareness or support. As such, we have a charity drive geared towards reaching these precious ones.
